Hello Readers,
I was just thinking about sport medicine boots. Many people say that they are the best all-around boots because they give protection everywhere on the cannon bones, tendons, and fetlocks. They are fitted to the contours of a horse's leg, so there will not be any rubbed skin, and they provide shock absorbtion. Other people protest that these boots do not allow horses to move correctly by restricting the leg movement, and therefore can damage the leg. You can see SMBoots at http://www.horse.com/leg-and-hoof-protection/sports-medicine-boots/593/,
What do you think about SMSs? Do you think they are the best boots ever, good for only on discipline, or should never be used at all? Please comment your answer and explain your thoughts.
Thaks for reading,

Sport medicine boots are used by many reining professionals, and if they knew that these boots restricted movement, they would never touch this type of boot. Their horses' performance is still outstanding with the protection they need. Go boots! :D
ReplyDeleteso you think they are the best boots ever or they are only good for reining?
DeleteI think that they are good boots if they can survive advanced reining and protect the horse
ReplyDeleteSMBs are not good for cross country or stuff like that because they aren't very breathable and will get heavy in the water and slip. If the boots are slipping, then sometimes they can get caught on a jump and injure a horse! =(
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, I think that they are great protective boots for flatwork because they protect a lot of the horse's leg.
